There Aren't Enough Surveyors for the Grid We're About to Build
The country has committed tens of billions of dollars to the largest transmission expansion in a generation, and every mile of it needs control, boundary work, and easements before a single tower goes up. That demand is landing on a profession that has been shrinking for fifteen years: roughly 48,000 licensed surveyors, an average age near 58, and about a thousand new graduates a year against a retirement wave.
